Masti is fun that adds joy. Ayyashi is fun that takes joy from someone else. Drugs, bullying, harassment, drunk driving: these aren't "masti gone too far." They're a different thing entirely, and we name them for what they are.
A lot of words that meant joyful chaos in this country got flattened into "bad behaviour." Masti got eaten by ayyashi in the public imagination, and so kids learned to feel guilty about the most harmless joy. We don't accept that.
